The 'Fantastic Four' actor has inked a deal to star in the standalone 'Black Panther' movie alongside Chadwick Boseman.

AceShowbiz - Michael B. Jordan has been added to the cast of Marvel's "Black Panther". Michael will reteam with his "Creed" director Ryan Coogler after inking a deal to star in the upcoming standalone Black Panther movie.

It's unclear who Michael would play, but a source told The Hollywood Reporter that he would star as a villain. Marvel has not commented on the report yet. This would be the third time Michael works with Ryan. The duo first teamed up for indie drama "Fruitvale Station".

The news came after Lupita Nyong'o was reportedly in negotiations to star opposite Chadwick Boseman in "Black Panther". Rumor has it, the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" actress will play T'Challa's love interest.

Black Panther debuted in "Captain America: Civil War", which crossed the $700 million worldwide mark in under a week and a half. The standalone "Black Panther" movie will hit U.S. theaters on February 2, 2018, with production set to start in early 2017.

Michael previously starred as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch in Fox's Marvel franchise, "The Fantastic Four".
