"Wayward Pines" is ready to welcome you back. FOX has released a new teaser for the second season of last summer's hit drama, offering a look at Dr. Theo Yedlin's (Jason Patric) journey that has just begun in the small town.

He sees the Abbies in the forest and is taken into a bunker. "Where are we?" he asks. A glimpse of another new character CJ Mitchum (played by Djimon Hounsou) as well as some returning faces like Kate Hewson (Carla Gugino), sheriff Arnold Pope (Terrence Howard), Megan Fisher (Hope Davis) and Nurse Pam (Melissa Leo) is also offered, set to some creepy music.

The 10-episode season 2 picks up after the shocking events of the season 1 finale, with the residents of Wayward Pines battling against the iron-fisted rule of the First Generation. Dr. Theo Yedlin - a new resident of Wayward Pines - awakens from suspended animation and finds himself in the middle of this rebellion, as he tries to understand what Wayward Pines really is and help preserve the endangered human race.

CJ Mitchum, an original resident of Wayward Pines and a historian for the town with extensive knowledge of its complex origins, is the only one who can provide a unique bridge between the current world of Wayward Pines and the previous world that humans inhabited. Megan Fisher, is in charge of the scientific research being conducted on the Abbies, and remains deeply involved in the development of the hearts and minds of the future of humanity - Wayward Pines' "First Generation".

Shannyn Sossamon and Charlie Tahan reprise their roles as Theresa Burke and her son Ben. Adam Hassler (Tim Griffin), "who had a very small part in season 1, is a very critical part in his terms of understanding of Wayward Pines" in season 2, EP Blake Crouch previously said.

The psychological thriller returns with the new season Wednesday, May 25 at 8/7c.
