The 'Shake It Off' hitmaker was previously rumored to make a cameo in the ninth installment of the 'X-Men' film series as the mutant singer Dazzler.

Taylor Swift's representative breaks silence on rumors that she would make a cameo as the mutant singer Dazzler in upcoming "X-Men Apocalypse". The rep tells Gossip Cop that the casting rumors are entirely "not true."

Rumors of Taylor joining the cast of the ninth installment of "X-Men" film series emerged after Simon Kinberg tweeted a photo of himself with Taylor, James McAvoy and Sophie Turner last summer. According to the site, the photo has nothing to do with Taylor possibly making a cameo.

The "Blank Space" singer was in Montreal at the same time the film was shooting there, but she was in Canada for one of her "1989" concerts, which Simon, James and Sophie attended.

Simon previously explained the photo, "We went to [a Taylor Swift] show, me and those people, and then she invited us to come back and meet her afterwards. It was just a photo backstage at the concert, and that was the only time we ever saw her. That's where that particular rumor came from."

The cameo rumor resurfaced on Friday, April 29, when Sophie posted a photo of Jean, Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) and Jubilee (Lana Condor) in a record store and finding a Dazzler album "Sounds of Light and Fury". The caption read, "#FBF that time Cyclops and I went shopping at the mall and found our favorite singer's album (pre 1989, of course)."

An insider, however, told E! News that "it's not [Taylor] on the Dazzler album cover from Sophie's tweeted photo."

"X-Men: Apocalypse" is set to hit U.S. theaters on May 27.
