Movie

The veteran actor is on the verge of making a transition from DC Comics to Marvel by negotiating for a mystery role.

AceShowbiz - The development of "Spider-Man: Homecoming" is moving fast with the latest casting report. Michael Keaton is eying the villain role in the new Spider-Man reboot starring Tom Holland.

The 64-year-old actor is in early talks to join the Sony film, sources tells Variety. Details about his role are kept under wraps but there were rumors recently that aging Vulture could appear as a baddie in the pic. It is yet clear whether the character also known as Adrian Toomes would be the main villain or just one of the bad guys that Spider-Man defeats in a scene.

If the deal goes through, Keaton will join Marisa Tomei who plays Peter Parker's Aunt May, and Zendaya Coleman who plays a non-comicbook character named "Michelle". Jon Watts is directing "Homecoming" from a script by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. Production will begin this summer to meet the July 7, 2017 premiere.

For Keaton, this marks a transition from DC Comics to Marvel. He famously portrayed Batman in Tim Burton's "Batman" in 1989.
