AceShowbiz - Former "The Bachelor" contestant %cErin Storm% died at 41 years old. The pilot was involved in a fiery plane crash when she was flying a small plane on Monday, March 21. The single engine plane crashed soon after it took off from Hawthorne Airport in Los Angeles around noon, police said.
Still according to police, "a nearby construction crew witnessed the crash and was able to remove the pilot from the wreckage prior to the arrival of emergency services." Storm "was treated by LA County Fire personnel, and transported by ambulance to Harbor UCLA Medical Center in Carson," but she did not survive.
Bryon Mayes, who witnessed the crash, told KNBC, "All of a sudden, my partner started yelling, 'Watch out, there's a plane coming!' and it looked like the plane veered up, lost control and hit a couple feet away from the truck, a couple feet away from us." Mayes and others pulled Storm from the burning plane with the pilot in cardiac arrest and her legs on fire.
Storm, who was vying for %cMatt Grant%'s heart in season 12 of the reality dating series, was living in California and worked for Pacific Blue Air, an aircraft training facility at the L.A. airport. It's currently unknown what caused the plane to go down. The crash is still being investigated by both the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Traffic Safety Board.
Grant, who proposed to contestant %cShayne Lamas% in the show's season finale but later ended their relationship, told ET that he's "massively shocked" after learning of Storm's sudden passing. He added, "Devastated for her family and friends. We were lucky to have Erin on season 12. She was genuine, self-assured, beautiful and hilarious."
Storm's friends took to social media to mourn her death. Christiana Marie wrote on Facebook, "It is with the heaviest heart I've ever had to be posting this.
