Demi Lovato brought her golden pipes and her "Confident" album to "American Idol". The former Disney darling delivered powerful performances of her latest singles off the record when she stopped by the singing contest on Thursday night, March 3.
Clad in a black dress beneath a leather jacket of the same color, Lovato first appeared with the top 10 contestants for a rendition of the LP's title track. The 23-year-old star and the remaining "Idol" hopefuls took turns singing the super sassy track in front of the crowd and judges.
Later that night, Lovato returned to the stage alone for the latest "Confident" single, "Stone Cold". She simply amazed the audience as well as viewers at home as she emotionally belted out the heart-wrenching ballad.
"Confident" was released last October. Lovato is going to support the project with the "Future Now" tour that she will co-headline with frequent collaborator and fellow former Disney star Nick Jonas.
In a brief interview with "Idol" host Ryan Seacrest, she revealed what to expect from the upcoming shows. "We want it to be extremely interactive," she said. "That comes down to the performances, but also the smell when you enter the arena."
