The band, which was formed by Joe Jonas two years after the Jonas Brothers broke up, is still climbing up the charts with their debut single 'Cake by the Ocean'.

Nick Jonas isn't the only Jonas with successful career in music after the Jonas Brothers broke up two years ago. His brother Joe Jonas tried out a DJ career before forming a new band called DNCE with guitarist JinJoo Lee, bassist/keyboardist Cole Whittle and drummer Jack Lawless.

Lawless's name may sound familiar to hardcore JoBros fans. Before this, he toured with the now-disbanded group and has been a good friend of Jonas. The idea to start DNCE came when they were living together. Lee, who'd also known Jonas for years, was the next member to join.

Of Whittle, Jonas jokingly said in an interview that he wanted the fourth member to be "someone with a crazy haircut and tattoos who wears jumpsuits from the '80s. Luckily, we found him."

DNCE was officially announced in September 2015 and they released their debut single "Cake by the Ocean" later in the same month. The song, which appears on their debut EP "SWAAY", has been a success in some territories and is still climbing up the charts. Most recently, it reached No. 41 on Billboard Hot 100.

Following their EP which earned positive reviews from critics and sold out tour dates they played in late 2015, DNCE plans to release their debut album this year.
