The first trailer for "Ice Age: Collision Course" has surfaced online. The fifth installment of the "Ice Age" movie series brings back Scrat the squirrel, who is still in quest of his favorite acorn. However, it accidentally takes him into space.

The trailer opens with Scrat entering a cave below the iceberg, where he accidentally activates a spaceship. When he tries to take back his acorn, the ship flies and gets into space. He then experiences a series of ridiculous cosmic events which cause some planets to collide and threaten the Ice Age World.

The trailer also shows a glimpse of Manny the Mammoth, Sid the Sloth and Diego the Tiger. Realizing that they have to save themselves from the cosmic threat, "Sid, Manny, Diego, and the rest of the herd must leave their home and embark on a quest full of comedy and adventure, traveling to exotic new lands and encountering a host of colorful new characters."

Back in November, 20th Century Fox debuted a short film entitled "Scratastrophe" which also followed the adventure of Scrat in outer space.

John Leguizamo, Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, Keke Palmer, Denis Leary, Chris Wedge and Wanda Sykes are in the voice cast. Directed by Mike Thurmeier and Galen T. Chu, the animated comedy will arrive in the U.S. on July 26, 2106.
