New 'Doctor Strange' Set Photo Reveals Sanctum Sanctorum
Movie

The new on-set photo seemingly features Sanctum Sanctorum, a place filled with supernatural powers where Stephen Strange resides.

AceShowbiz - While production continues on the upcoming superhero movie "Doctor Strange", Marvel co-president Louis D'Esposito shared a new photo from the set of the movie. The photo was taken in a location which appears to be Doctor Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum.

D'Esposito uploaded on his Twitter account a picture of himself posing side by side with director Scott Derrickson and producer Stephen Broussard. The trio are seen standing in a room with some ancient ornaments. What makes people think that the place is Sanctum Sanctorum is the seal on the door on the left side. It seems to represent the Seal of the Vishanti, a sign of powerful white magic which is a part of Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum in the source materials.

Sanctum Sanctorum is the place where Stephen Strange resides. The structure of the townhouse and the grounds beneath it have become a focal point for supernatural energies. In the photo, there is also an artifact in front of the door which appears to be the Eye of Agamotto, which Strange used to defeat Dormammu.

The set photo aside, the film has recruited "Sinister" scribe C. Robert Cargill. He has worked with Derrickson on the script, which was previously penned by Jon Spaihts ("Prometheus"). Cargill made the announcement through his Facebook page. "It's not a secret anymore. For those of you who don't know what I've been doing for the past year, I've been writing DOCTOR STRANGE for Marvel Studios. And I couldn't be happier or prouder. Our cast and crew are amazing and I'm having the best time," he wrote.

"Doctor Strange" follows the story of the neurosurgeon (Benedict Cumberbatch) who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions. Also starring Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Michael Stuhlbarg and Mads Mikkelsen, the superhero movie will arrive in U.S. theaters on November 4, 2016.
