Earlier this month, a fan suggested Olivia Wilde and the director of her latest film "Meadowland", Reed Morano, to team up once again for "Captain Marvel". In a recent interview with Cinema Blend, the 31-year-old actress, who already showed her interest in playing Carol Danvers, shared her thought about some qualities that Marvel should give to its superheroines.

Wilde gave another idea about how female heroes should look like, saying that they have to be flawless. "I'm a big fan of superhero films, and I have so much respect for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The thing with female superheroes is that, in order to be powerful, they are flawless," she explained. "The idea of kick-ass power lacks a certain nuance, at times. There is something to be said for a female director working to create a female superhero that perhaps [has] a little more complexity."

With the intriguing stories of Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow and Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch, Marvel has seemingly been trying to add more complexity to its superheroines. "Marvel has been so smart about casting unexpected people for these roles. Look at what Robert Downey brought to Iron Man. A real, dry sense of humor and a complexity to his hero balance. I think that the way these Marvel heroes are written, the female superheroes included, do have complexity and flaws," Wilde pointed out.

And while Wilde praised the studio for their work, the actress thought that Marvel's female superheroes had to be more complex so that they could be compared to male superheroes. "But I think when they are translated into film, the women can become these ultimate goddesses of perfection and I would love to create a female Marvel character who is just as unexpected and complex as some of the male characters as Iron Man," she said. "I think that would be really cool!"

When a Twitter user asked Wilde to do "Captain Marvel" with Morano, she responded to the idea enthusiastically. "Oh hell yea. Let's DO this! I'm starting my @Marvel diet immediately. Eggshells and jet fuel only, right? Who says indie kids can't go pro?!" she replied.
