Scott Shepherd Signs On for 'Bourne 5', Jon Hamm Is Set to Star in 'Baby Driver'

The 'Bridge of Spies' actor has signed up to star in 'Bourne 5' as the deputy director of the CIA, while Hamm is set to star in 'Baby Driver' alongside Ansel Elgort.

AceShowbiz - Scott Shepherd has officially signed on for "Bourne 5", joining Matt Damon who reprises his role as Jason Bourne. According to Variety, Shephered will portray the deputy director of the CIA.

Paul Greengrass, who helmed 2007's "The Bourne Ultimatum", will be back as director and will co-write the script with Christopher Rouse. Frank Marshall will produce the action movie alongside Jeffrey Weiner with Rouse and Henry Morrison tapped as executive producers.

Alicia Vikander, Tommy Lee Jones, Vincent Cassel, Viggo Mortensen, Scott Shepherd and Ato Essandoh are also in the cast with Julia Stiles expected to return. Plot details are still kept under wraps, though production is already underway in Budapest. "Bourne 5" will be released Statesides on July 29, 2016.

Shepherd can be seen in Steven Spielberg's "Bridge of Spies" alongside Tom Hanks. He will also appear on HBO's limited series "The Young Pope" coming out next year.

In other news, "Mad Men" star Jon Hamm is set to star in "Baby Driver". The 44-year-old actor will join Ansel Elgort, Lily James and Jamie Foxx in the cast.

The film follows a young talented driver who suffers from a condition that leaves a constant ringing in his ears. He finds himself in trouble after he is forced by a crime boss to be the getaway driver for a group of bank robbers. Hamm is on board to play one of the film's villains, a trader-turned-cop killer, who becomes the member of the gang of bank robbers.

Edgar Wright is writing and directing, with Eric Fellner, Tim Bevan and Nira Park producing. The action film will arrive in the U.S. on March 17, 2017.
