The music video for Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again" featuring Charlie Puth is certainly not the first video to reach 1 billion views but it's the fastest to reach the milestone and the first in rap category. The video achieved the landmark this week, six months after it premiered on Khalifa's YouTube channel.

" 'See You Again' is not only the first rap video to hit a billion views but is also the fastest video to hit a billion on YouTube. Wow. Thank u," Puth tweeted on Wednesday, October 7 night. The music video is the tenth most-viewed YouTube upload of all time. PSY's "Gangnam Style" remains number one with more than 2.4 billion views since July 2012.

"See You Again" certainly benefits from being the soundtrack to "Furious 7" which has made more than $1.5 billion worldwide, and is the fifth highest grossing movie ever. Puth revealed that he wrote the hook with the late Paul Walker in mind. "I produced the song with DJ Frank E," he told EW. "He's known for writing huge pop hits. We didn't know each other, [but] we wrote the hook in, like, 10 minutes. What was interesting was that we were writing the song for Paul, but we didn't tell each other that we had both lost somebody recently. It was pretty powerful."

Khalifa and Puth will receive the Hollywood Song Award for the hit soundtrack at the 19th annual Hollywood Film Awards ceremony in Beverly Hills on November 1. The film itself is being recognized with the Hollywood Blockbuster Award.
