The film centers on Jobs' career as a gadget inventor and focuses on the three product launches, the Macintosh in 1984, NeXT in 1988 and the iMac in 1998.

AceShowbiz - Following a successful debut at the Telluride Film Festival, Universal has released a new trailer for "Steve Jobs", a biopic about the late Apple co-founder. The trailer offers some never-before-seen footage such as when Jobs is forced to connect with his daughter.

Starring Michael Fassbender as the titular genius, the film focuses on Jobs' three presentations when Apple launched the Macintosh in 1984, NeXT in 1988 and the iMac in 1998. Becoming a successful inventor, Jobs encounters a problem. He is pushed to be a good father for his daughter. "What you make isn't supposed to be the best part of you when you're a father," Kate Winslet's Joanna Hoffman, one of the original members of the Macintosh and NeXT teams, tells Jobs. "That's what's supposed to be the best part of you."

The film also stars Seth Rogen as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, Jeff Daniels as former Apple CEO John Sculley and Katherine Waterston as Job's former flame. David Fincher was initially attached to direct before Danny Boyle replaced him. Christian Bale was considered to play Jobs before the role ended up being played by Fassbender. "Steve Jobs" is expected to be screened at the 53rd annual New York Film Festival on October 3 and will be released later in the U.S. on October 9.
