Ellen DeGeneres responded to Caitlyn Jenner's "conservative" view on gay marriage. While stopping by "The Howard Stern Show" on Tuesday, September 8, the 57-year-old comedian joked that Caitlyn didn't want to dance with her because she's a lesbian.

"She still has a judgement about gay marriage," Ellen said of Caitlyn. " 'You're wanting people to understand and accept you' - this is like really confusing to people and you still have a judgement about gay people and marriage."

When host Howard Stern asked Ellen whether Caitlyn danced with her during her first appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", she said, "I don't think she's a dancer," before speculating, "Maybe she didn't wanna dance with me because I'm a lesbi."

However, Ellen said she had a great interview with the former Olympic athlete. "I'm grateful that she was on the show. And I don't really know her and I'm trying to understand it because I don't fully understand it either," she said. "But I also want everyone to be happy. So I don't fully understand all of that, but I want her to be happy - which is what I want for her, for me."

Previously, Caitlyn told Ellen on her show, "I thought, I'm a traditionalist. I'm older than a lot of people in the audience. I kind of like tradition, and it's always been between a man and a woman... but... I don't ever want to stand in front of anybody's happiness." Regarding Caitlyn's conservative mind, Ellen joked, "She's Republican and conservative... And I think, you know, a lot of Republicans are wishing she wasn't a Republican."

The interview aside, Caitlyn shared her opinion with Matt Lauer about a controversial Halloween costume inspired by her outfit on Vanity Fair's cover. "I'm in on the joke. I don't think it's offensive at all. I know the community does and they've gotten a lot of criticism for doing it. I think it's great," she told Matt. "To be honest with you, I think it's great. They could have a better looking outfit for him, you know?"
