Tori Spelling files a lawsuit against Benihana corporation. The actress sues the company after falling on a hibachi grill at the chain's Encino, California restaurant and suffering third degree burns. The incident happened in April. She burned her right arm.
In an Instagram picture several weeks ago, the mother of four appeared to have scar from the injury. In her suit, she said she suffered "deep second and third degree burn injuries." She is seeking compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and general damages.
"It was an unfortunate accident," Spelling's husband, Dean McDermott, told the New York Daily News back then. "She had a little burn... She had to get skin grafts." Asked if they were going to press charges, he replied at the time, "I don't know."
He later gave an update on his wife's condition during an interview with Extra. "She's recovering, doing pretty good," he said. "At home resting, she's not here in New York with me."
