Such hit movies like 'Transformers: Age of Extinction', 'World War Z' and 'Star Trek: Into Darkness' won't be available on Netflix starting in October and move to Hulu.

AceShowbiz - Netflix is parting ways with Epix. The streaming giant has announced that it won't renew its deal with Epix which will expire at the end of September. As a result, some big movies like "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire", "Transformers: Age of Extinction", "World War Z", "Star Trek: Into Darkness" and many more won't be available on Netflix beginning in October.

Netflix made the decision as it now focuses on original movies and series. "We know some of you will be disappointed by the expiration of the Epix movies," Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos wrote on the Netflix blog. "Our goal is to provide great movies and TV series for all tastes, that are only available on Netflix."

Netflix had previously inked a four-movie deal with Adam Sandler. One of the projects under the deal is "The Ridiculous Six" which is set to be released on December 11. The streaming service will also release Cary Fukunaga's "Beasts of No Nation" in October and Sofia Coppola's "A Very Murray Christmas" in December.

As Netflix ends it deal with Epix, the latter has entered into partnership with Hulu. The two have closed a multi-year deal, which includes original programming and new releases from Lionsgate, MGM and Paramount. Newer movies such as "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1", "Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation" and "Interstellar" will be available for streaming by Hulu subscribers starting October 1.

"Hulu has become one of the most popular premium streaming services and EPIX's agreement is evidence of their understanding of the value that our blockbuster Hollywood films, deep library of classic film titles and original programming brings to consumers," said Mark Greenberg, President and CEO of Epix. "We are excited to be partnering with Hulu, and share their commitment to providing viewers a truly premium experience, particularly as we enter the next phase of our networks growth and development."
