Bruce Wayne is another step closer to embracing his alter ego on "Gotham" season 2. A new photo from the next installment of the Batman prequel series features Bruce and his loyal butler Alfred Pennyworth exploring the hidden lair beneath Wayne Manor that was teased in the first season finale.

"It changes everything in Bruce's life," star David Mazouz tells TV Insider. "It changes how he sees Alfred, the criminal side of Gotham, even how he sees his parents."

While the secret space will definitely be Batcave in the future, Mazouz who plays young Bruce insists, "It's definitely not the Batcave." Instead, "what is down there are clues to Thomas Wayne's secret life and what he was trying to do before being killed."

"Gotham" returns Monday, September 21 at 8/7c on FOX. The show has tapped James Frain, Jessica Lucas, Dustin Ybarra, Michelle Veintimilla and Leo Fitzpatrick to play new villains Theo Galvan, his sister Tabitha a.k.a. Tigress, Robert Greenwood, Firefly and Joe Pike respectively. Michael Chiklis, meanwhile, is cast as Gotham City Police Department Captain, Nathaniel Barnes.

A new trailer for the second season was recently shared, highlighting the new villains and the returning ones, such as Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor), Edward Nygma a.k.a. The Riddler (Cory Michael Smith) and Jerome a.k.a. The Joker (Cameron Monaghan).
