The 'America's Next Top Model' host will play Dre's (Anthony Anderson) best friend in a story based on series creator Kenya Barris' real-life friendship with the model.

AceShowbiz - "Black-ish" has enlisted Tyra Banks as a guest star for its forthcoming season. The 41-year-old supermodel, who created and hosts "America's Next Top Model", will play a version of herself who is best friend with Dre (Anthony Anderson).

The story is inspired by series creator Kenya Barris' real-life friendship with the catwalk beauty. "I give my wife a lot of credit; I grew up with [Banks], but my wife came into a situation where my best friend from 4 years old is a supermodel," Barris reveals to TVLine. "She's a very good sport."

"Black-ish" is one of critically acclaimed new series that debuted last fall. The new season will premiere Wednesday, September 23 at 9:30/8:30c on ABC. Banks' episode is slated to air around the middle of the season.

Star Anthony Anderson recently revealed that one of the first episodes in the second season would tackle the N-word. "[The episode] is about who has the right to say that word, and whether it should be said at all," so the Emmy-nominated actor told EW.

In the said episode, Dre and Rainbow's (Tracee Ellis Ross) son Jack (Miles Brown) sings Kanye West's "Gold Digger" with its original lyrics which contain the N-word. Jack lands in trouble for his performance as Anderson shared, "It's definitely not hate speech coming from a 9-year-old kid who has not an ounce of hate in his body but he's expelled for singing along to the lyrics from a song."
