NBC is staying in business with Tina Fey and Mike Schur. The network has ordered a comedy pilot from the "30 Rock" creator and a new series from the mastermind behind "Parks and Recreation".

Fey and Robert Carlock's untitled pilot is described as a female-driven half-hour comedy and inspired by the life of "30 Rock" casting director Tracey Wigfield, who also wrote the pilot. The project revolves around a mother-daughter relationship that is challenged when an overly involved New Jersey mom gets an internship at her daughter's workplace, a cable news network.

"Tina and Robert are two of the pre-eminent voices in comedy, and we couldn't be more thrilled that they're bringing their next project to NBC," said NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke in a statement. "We also adore Tracey, who has written some brilliant episodes of both '30 Rock' and 'The Mindy Project'. With this super-talented trio at the helm, we're eagerly looking forward to their next great show."

Schur's new series is currently titled "A Good Place". It centers on a woman wrestling with what it means to be good. The show has received a 13-episode straight-to-series order. Schur said his new show would feature a "strong and very complicated lead female character" like Amy Poehler's character on "Parks and Rec".

Salke said of Schur's new project, "For seven seasons, Mike Schur brought us the wonderful citizens of Pawnee, and we can't wait to see the new group of indelible characters that he'll now introduce."
