The first trailer for action thriller movie "Solace" has arrived online. Starring Colin Farrell and Anthony Hopkins, the movie highlights a story about a former doctor with psychic abilities who is asked to help FBI stop a serial killer.

The trailer opens with John Clancy (Hopkins) having a discussion with FBI agents about the mission they are about to handle. It turns out that the serial killer (Farrel) has the same abilities as Clancy has. "See? He's just like me. He sees things," Clancy says.

According to the official trailer, "a former doctor with psychic abilities named John Clancy is drawn into a serial killer case only to find that the killer also is a psychic, leading to a showdown between the two who can detect each other's every move."

The script was initially penned as a sequel to David Fincher's "Se7en". The plan was to feature William Somerset, played by Morgan Freeman in "Se7en", to develop a protagonist character who has psychic abilities. However, the plan ended up with Hopkins's Clancy serving as the main character.

"Solace" doesn't have a U.S. release date just yet, but it will be released in France on September 9 and in the U.K. on September 25. Brazilian helmer Afonso Poyart ("Two Rabbits") directs the film from a screenplay by Jamie Vanderbilt, Sean Bailey, Peter Morgan and Griffin. Other stars attached in the cast are Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Abbie Cornish, Matt Gerald and Janine Turner.
