In an interview with Vanity Fair magazine, the 'Bad Blood' hitmaker reveals how girls in her group can get along well though some of them have dated the same guys.

AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift is dubbed "captain of the #girlsquad and the most influential 25-year-old in America" on the September issue of Vanity Fair magazine. In an interview with the magazine, Taylor talked about how friends in her group who have dated the same guys could get along well.

The "Bad Blood" hitmaker often invited her pals including Gigi Hadid, Lena Dunham, Karlie Kloss and Cara Delevingne to join her on stage at her concerts. Their friendship is so strong that men apparently don't have a chance of tumbling it down. "We even have girls in our group who have dated the same people," The blonde beauty said. "It's almost like the sisterhood has such a higher place on the list of priorities for us. It's so much more important than some guy that it didn't work out with."

Taylor said that they even opened up to each other about their taste in men. "Now more than ever we need to be good and kind to each other and not judge each other - and just because you have the same taste in men, we don't hold that against each other," she added.

The 25-year-old singer also opened up about her open letter to Apple earlier this year. "I wrote the letter at around four A.M.," Taylor confessed. "The contracts had just gone out to my friends, and one of them sent me a screenshot of one of them. I read the term 'zero percent compensation to rights holders.' Sometimes I'll wake up in the middle of the night and I'll write a song and I can't sleep until I finish it, and it was like that with the letter."

Taylor admitted that she had insecurity after she received criticism for her Wall Street Journal op-ed about Spotify's free-streaming service. Therefore, she consulted her mother before releasing the letter to Apple on the Internet. "I read it to my mom," she said. "She's always going to be the one. I just said, 'I'm really scared of this letter, but I had to write it. I might not post it, but I had to say it.' "

The "Style" songtress was surprised by Apple's kind response. "Apple treated me like I was a voice of a creative community that they actually cared about," Taylor said. "And I found it really ironic that the multi-billion-dollar company reacted to criticism with humility, and the start-up with no cash flow reacted to criticism like a corporate machine."

Taylor also opened up about how Jay-Z helped her reconcile with Kanye West years after Kanye interrupted her MTV VMA acceptance speech back in 2009. "I feel like I wasn't ready to be friends with [Kanye] until I felt like he had some sort of respect for me, and he wasn't ready to be friends with me until he had some sort of respect for me - so it was the same issue, and we both reached the same place at the same time," she revealed. "I became friends with Jay-Z, and I think it was important, for Jay-Z, for Kanye and I to get along. . . . And then Kanye and I both reached a place where he would say really nice things about my music and what I've accomplished, and I could ask him how his kid's doing."

In terms of career inspirations, the country-turned-pop singer told the magazine that she looked up to women who have used their celebrity status to do good stuff. "If you look at Oprah [Winfrey], she's made so many people happy over the years," Taylor said. "She's made so much money, but she's given so much of it away. . . . Same thing with Angelina Jolie. She's been so productive, but she's used that position to better other people's lives, and I think that's where I'd want to be."

Regarding her romance, Taylor said, "Not looking for anything, not necessarily being open to anything, and only being open to the idea that, if I found someone who would never try to change me, that would be the only person I could fall in love with. Because, you know, I was in love with my life."
