As the production of action movie "Bourne 5" approaches, Jeremy Renner", who plays the lead role in "The Bourne Legacy", shared his thought regarding "Bourne" film franchise. The actor said that he was still hoping that a crossover movie with Matt Damon would really happen.

In an interview about his new movie "Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation" with Screen Rant, Renner opened up that he loved the "Bourne" franchise and would be interested in working with Damon if the studio makes a crossover project.

When asked about his opinion regarding the possible collaboration between him and Damon and mixing their characters up, Renner said, "Yeah, I mean in two seconds. I love that world. I love the character. If they want to do that, I'm in. there's no 'no' coming from this direction."

The rumor about a crossover from the two "Bourne" franchises surfaced when Damon confirmed that he would reprise his role as Jason Bourne in "Bourne 5". However, earlier this year, producer Frank Marshall denied the rumor, saying that Damon's Bourne and Renner's Aaron Cross were on different track. "We don't have plans for that. You never know. I never say never. But that's not the plan. They're on separate tracks," Marshall explained.

Damon leads the cast in "Bourne 5" which also includes Julia Stiles, Alicia Vikander, Tommy Lee Jones and Viggo Mortensen. Directed by Paul Greengrass, the action movie is slated for a release in North America on July 29, 2016.
