Richard Linklater is the current frontrunner to helm Jennifer Lawrence in upcoming romantic dramedy "The Rosie Project" for Sony Pictures, Deadline reports. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller recently exited the project to direct an untitled stand-alone Star Wars film II.

"Paper Towns" and "500 Days of Summer" screenwriters Michael H. Weber and Scott Neustadter adapted Graeme Simsion's popular novel with the same name for the project. The story follows Don Tillman, a socially awkward genetics professor who develops an elaborate questionnaire by which to find his perfect mate. He later falls in love with Rosie (Jennifer), who fits none of his selection criteria.

Richard just wrapped a baseball comedy, formerly titled "That's What I'm Talking About", which is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on April 15, 2016. It stars Blake Jenner, Tyler Hoechlin, Wyatt Russell, Ryan Guzman, Zoey Deutch, Will Brittain and Glen Powell. Annapurna Pictures is backing it and selling foreign rights. Set in 1980, the movie follows an incoming freshman (Blake) experiencing his first weekend in college as a pitcher on the school's nationally ranked team.

Jennifer will next be seen in "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2" and "Joy" which are scheduled to be released on November 20 and December 25 respectively. She is currently filming "X-Men: Apocalypse" and currently in pre-production for "Passengers (2016)".
