AceShowbiz - A new photo from the set of "X-Men: Apocalypse" has arrived online. The film's director Bryan Singer shared via Instagram on Tuesday, July 21 an image of him taking a stroll between destroyed buildings. "Tip toeing through ruined #Cairo #1983 #xmen #apocalypse," he said in the caption.

As fans of the "X-Men" comics know, Cairo is the home of Ororo Munroe a.k.a. Storm. She was born in Manhattan, but moved to Cairo as an infant. She lost her parents in a plane crash and later became a street thief to survive. With Alexandra Shipp taking over the role of Storm from Halle Berry in the upcoming film, fans will likely get a glimpse of the weather controlling mutant's origin.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" is scheduled for release in the U.S. on May 27, 2016. Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult are set to lead the cast as Magneto, Professor X, Mystique and Beast respectively. Evan Peters, Rose Byrne, Olivia Munn, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Ben Hardy and Lana Condor are other names attached to the project.
