AceShowbiz - Another Netflix original series is coming soon and the streaming giant has promoted it in a trailer. Set to be released on August 28 at 12:01 A.M. PT, "Narcos" is a drug cartel drama about the hunt for legendary crime lord Pablo Escobar.
It is the true story of the U.S. and Colombian efforts to battle the Medellin cartel during the cocaine-fueled drug wars of the 1980s. Wagner Moura ("Elysium") plays the drug kingpin Escobar, while Boyd Holbrook ("Gone Girl") and Pedro Pascal ("Game of Thrones") star as real-life DEA agents Steve Murphy and Javier Pena respectively.
Multi-layered and multi-faceted, "Narcos" depicts a brutal world where lines are blurred and little is black and white. The series was created by Chris Brancato, Eric Newman and Carlo Bernard. Jose Padilha ("RoboCop") directed the crime drama with the script written by Brancato.
