'There will never be Beastie Boys live performances without Adam Yauch,' a rep for the group says, denying reports suggesting surviving members Mike D and Ad-Rock are planning live reunion.

AceShowbiz - Beastie Boys will never play live shows without their late pal Adam "MCA" Yauch". A representative for band has denied live comeback rumors that started swirling recently after surviving members Michael "Mike D" Diamond and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz filed a trademark application for the group's name in conjunction with "live performances by a musical group." The rep told media, "There will never be Beastie Boys live performances without Adam Yauch."
It was lawyer David Lizerbram who found out that Beastie Boys had filed the trademark application at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He noted that although the application seemingly hinted at a potential reunion, it could also be filed for other reasons. Judging from the rep's statement, the application is probably Beastie Boys' effort to prevent possible future infringement on their name and music.
Yauch died in 2012 after a battle with cancer. While embroiled in a copyright infringement battle with Monster Energy Drink last year, Diamond and Horovitz stated that there wouldn't be new Beastie Boys music after their bandmate's death.
