"Ex Machina (2015)" star Alicia Vikander has been confirmed to star in "Bourne 5". According to Deadline, she will star opposite returning actor Matt Damon. However, this prevents her from starring in a video game adaptation "Assassin's Creed" because of scheduling issue.

Damon is set to reprise the role of amnesiac CIA assassin Jason Bourne in the follow-up to "The Bourne Legacy". Julia Stiles has also been confirmed to reprise her role as Bourne's ally Nicky Parsons. Meanwhile, Viggo Mortensen is in negotiations to play a villain role but there hasn't been any official confirmation as of now. The movie will be directed by Paul Greengrass, who also helmed "The Bourne Identity", "The Bourne Supremacy" and "The Bourne Ultimatum".

Deadline also points out that Vikander was previously set to star in "The Circle". She later decided to pass on the role and took part in the next installment of "Bourne" movie series. "The Circle" is based on Dave Eggers's novel, and is written and directed by James Ponsoldt. Tom Hanks has been attached to star and produce alongside Gary Goetzman and Anthony Bregman. Emma Watson is reportedly now the most likely candidate to replace Vikander in "The Circle".

Vikander has previously starred in "Seventh Son and "Testament of Youth". She also still has some more movies coming out in the next several months such as "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.", "Adam Jones", "The Danish Girl", "Tulip Fever" and "The Light Between Oceans".
