Jason Statham Slams Marvel's Movies for Using Stunt Doubles and CGI

The 'Spy' actor criticized Marvel's superhero movies for using too much CGI and stunt doubles, calling it 'not authentic.'

AceShowbiz - %cJason Statham% shared his opinions about some action movies in an interview with Italian entertainment site, I400CalCi. While talking about his new movie, "Spy", the 47-year-old actor criticized the use of computer-generated imagery or CGI and stunt doubles in action movies such as Marvel's superhero movies.

Critical towards the action scenes, Statham said, "Any guy can do it. I have no ambition. I mean, I could take my grandma and put her in a cape and then put her in a green screen, and they'll have stunt doubles come in and do all the action." The actor thought that those kinds of techniques were effortless. "Anybody can do it. They're relying on stunt doubles and green screen and $200 million budget. It's all CGI created," he emphasized.

Calling the action techniques "not authentic," Statham explained that he would be impressed if the action scenes were performed by the real star, not using stunt doubles or CGI.

In other news, Statham was reportedly in negotiations to play Bullseye in the second season of Marvel and Netflix's "Daredevil". However, other sources said that the studio killed the deal after news of his involvement leaked. As of now, there hasn't been any confirmation neither from the studio nor from Statham.
