AceShowbiz - Celebrating Memorial Day on Monday, May 25, Katie Holmes took time to pay tribute to her late grandfather who was a WWII veteran. The 36-year-old actress posted on her Instagram account a black-and-white snap of her late grandfather dressing in his uniform as he posed looking off-camera. "My grandfather. He served in world war 2. Thank you to all of the great men and women who serve our country. Happy Memorial Day!!!!!!" she captioned the image.
On the same day, Holmes also shared another Instagram photo that showed a person wearing jeans with printed stars on it. "Happy Memorial Day weekend!!!!!!!!!" read its caption.
Later that day, Holmes was spotted out and about in Santa Monica, Los Angeles. It turned out the actress and mother of one had a grocery shopping. She nailed the casual chic look, wearing distressed blue jeans with holes at the knees and flip-flops. She combined it with a black tank-top under a cream sweater and finished off her look with large black sunglasses.
