Waka Flocka Flame was forced to cancel his tour Down Under. Tour promoter Robin Fernando has just announced the news, saying that Australian government denied the rapper entry because of his recent drugs and gun-related arrest.
"Unfortunately Waka Flocka's entry into Australia was denied by the Australian Government Department of Immigration and Border Protection, due to his recent arrest(s) on both firearms and drug charges," he stated in a message posted on Facebook.
Waka Flocka, who was arrested back in October at an airport in Atlanta after he was found to have a loaded handgun in his luggage, was scheduled to play four shows in Australia and two in New Zealand later this month. According to Fernando, the rapper's visa for New Zealand had been approved, but he ended up deciding to scrap the concerts there as well.
"While a VISA into New Zealand had been approved, the Australian situation means that Waka Flocka's tour to this part of the world will no longer take place at this time," he said and added that all the dates would be rescheduled for "later in the year."
"We apologize for the inconvenience this causes, as hip hop fans ourselves we are gutted to not be seeing Waka Flocka play in New Zealand as planned, however we are committed to bringing the world's best hip hop acts to our shores, and will continue to do so," he concluded his post.
This isn't Waka Flocka's first time to have canceled a tour. In 2013, he "postponed" a string of shows which have never been rescheduled.
