While Tom Hardy is expected to reprise his titular role in "Mad Max: Fury Road" sequel, Charlize Theron may not return for the next installment. The Furiosa depicter expressed her reluctance to return to the franchise during an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

"There were times when I was like, 'George! What are we doing?!' We would show up with no scene numbers - we couldn't even have a call sheet. And you look around and go, 'What the f**k is going on?!' " she recalled. "There's part of me that's like, 'No f**king way will I ever do that [again]."

Still, she was impressed once the shoot got going. "You look at George and go, 'All right. That was awesome,' " she said. But "what runs loudly for me is the importance that women have in this world of survival," she explained. "I was very happy to be a girl with boobies and to be part of that."

Besides falling behind schedule and going way over budget, "Mad Max: Fury Road" which open May 15 in U.S. was also plagued with rumors about on-set feud between Hardy and Theron, which was brushed off by the former in a previous interview with Esquire.

"The feud with Charlize Theron? That's disappointing," he said. "I think she's f**king awesome. I think she's incredible. I think she's one of the most talented actresses of our generation. But it's very interesting, the concept of what danger is, and this has nothing to do with Charlize Theron or 'Mad Max,' actually, but this has to do with life in general."

"There is a flicker of energy that can come from certain people, whether it's fear-based or whether it's contrived, which can unsettle a room. And if somebody mismanages that, or if a trickster is in the driving seat of that particular asset and has no business being there in said room, well...but I am no more threat than a puppy," he continued.

He added, "People are frightened by passion and heart. I'm terrified of it. And by decision making, especially if it's not their own. There are many sides to a coin as well. Reputation can work for you and against you, but I'd rather have one than not have one. But at the same time, it better be the f**king right one. It has to be authentic. It will have my signature on it. If I punch somebody in the face, they will know it. If I haven't, someone knows as well."
