'Apocalypse' and 'Wolverine 3' to End Bryan Singer's 'X-Men' Universe
Movie

'X-Men: Apocalypse' is rumored to set up a conclusion for the current mutant universe which might end after the third 'Wolverine' movie in 2017.

AceShowbiz - Bryan Singer's "X-Men" series is coming to an end, according to the latest scoop from Umberto Gonzalez. Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" (May 27, 2016) and James Mangold's "The Wolverine 3" (March 3, 2017) are rumored to wrap up the current mutant universe.

Hugh Jackman did hint that he would leave after the third "Wolverine", and Jennifer Lawrence suggested "Apocalypse" would mark her last performance as Mystique. It's unclear whether Singer will still be involved or he will step aside if Fox decides to reboot the franchise.

"Apocalypse" is currently filming in Montreal, Canada. James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, and Lucas Till are among the returning cast ensemble, while Olivia Munn is one of the new members. She joins the team as Psylocke.

Lana Condor is added as Jubilee, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler, and Alexandra Shipp as Storm. "They're as much a part of the movie as our main cast," writer and producer Simon Kinberg says of the new members.

"Scott is not yet the squeaky-clean leader. Storm is a troubled character who is going down the wrong path in life. And Jean is complex, interesting and not fully mature. It's fun to see someone struggling with their powers when you know one day they'll become the most powerful person in the world," he explains to Empire Magazine.

Meanwhile, Singer says, "It's a big monster of a movie. The stakes are so high and global and the villain is so mythic. It's definitely an X-Men movie, but it really feels different." Oscar Isaac is set to play the main baddie.

Aside from the two "X-Men" movies, Fox is also introducing Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool on February 12, 2016 and Channing Tatum as Gambit on October 07, 2016.
