The third 'Wolverine' movie which will become Hugh Jackman's last appearance in the 'X-Men' franchise will be penned by Michael Green.

"The Wolverine 3" has nabbed a writer, TheWrap learns. Michael Green has been hired to write a screenplay for the upcoming superhero movie which is expected to mark Hugh Jackman's last performance as the clawed mutant.
Green is one of the four writers of 2011's "Green Lantern" movie starring Ryan Reynolds. He also co-wrote a long-delayed sequel to Ridley Scott's "Blade Runner" and helped polish Jack Paglen's script for Scott's "Prometheus 2".
James Mangold is confirmed to return as a director for the third "Wolverine" movie. His other Fox movie "The Deep Blue Good-by" is currently put on hold after the lead actor Christian Bale suffered torn knee ligaments in an accident at his home.
"The Wolverine 3" will be released Stateside on March 3, 2017. It is expected to go into production early next year. In the meantime, Fox is preparing for "X-Men: Apocalypse" with director Bryan Singer. It is due May 27, 2016.
