Jon Hamm has a dark secret which was not publicly exposed until now. He was accused of violent college hazing in 1990 at the University of Texas. He was charged with misdemeanor hazing and assault charges because of violent actions he did to prospective pledge of a fraternity in which he was joining.

According to court documents obtained by Star magazine (via Radar Online), Hamm and seven other members of Sigma Nu fraternity beat the pledge. The pledge, Mark Allen Sanders, said he was dragged by a hammer hooked underneath his genitals and had his pants lit on fire and he was struck by a paddle. Hamm and other members also allegedly picked him up by his underwear and "pulled it back and forth in a sawing motion," causing "great pain"."He rears back and hits me left-handed, and he hit me right over my right kidney, I mean square over it," Sanders said in the lawsuit. "Good solid hit and that, that stood me right up."

According to the lawsuit, Hamm couldn't hide his anger when he asked the pledge to recite things the pledge was suppposed to remember but he couldn't do it.

The mother of the pledge reported the incident and arrest warrants were issued for Hamm and the other frat members. Three of them were sentenced to 30 days in jail for hazing. Since then, the frat was shut down and never reopened on campus. University records show Hamm arrived on campus in 1989 and left in his sophomore year in which the hazing took place.
