The reality dancing competition series, which switched to a single-night format in season 17, may bring back the Tuesday results shows 'towards the end' of season 20.

AceShowbiz - "Dancing with the Stars" may be back to its old format as it reaches a milestone. The show, which celebrates its 10th anniversary and 20th season this spring, may bring back the results shows which were cut since the 17th season.

Showrunner Rob Wade reveals that the Tuesday results shows may return as the show enters the quarterfinals and semifinals. He tells TV Guide, "With the audience voting and the judges voting on the dance, and then seeing the result on the next night, I think you need the satisfaction of that influence. So I'm hoping that we'll get a couple results shows towards the end of the run."

Pro-dancer Derek Hough, who said in January that he wouldn't be returning to the show, agreed to come back to support the celebration. "He really wanted to come back," Wade reveals. "He was hoping to be part of the show and he really wanted to make it work. All parties wanted to make it work. It was a nice surprise for our 10th anniversary."

As for other things to be seen in season 20, Wade says fans can watch the pairs' behind-the-scenes preparation leading to the performance night with live-streamed rehearsals via the show's "All Access" page. The show will also feature new theme nights, such as a Spring Break week, in addition to the existing ones including Disney Night, Latin Night and America's Choice.

On the other hand, there will be no guest judges this season. The show featured Kevin Hart, Redfoo and more to fill in for Len Goodman last season, but Wade says, "We're not going to be doing guest judges this season, because we've got Len here the whole time." He also plans to involve the permanent judges "as much as we can in the storytelling of the show," teasing that they may take part in some of the routines.

"DWTS" season 20 premieres Monday, March 16 at 8/7c on ABC. To celebrate the milestone, "DWTS" also plans a standalone 10th anniversary special to air sometime in May.
