After apologizing to Zendaya, Giuliana now claims that the one who is responsible for her comments about Zendaya's Oscars dreadlock is the writer of 'Fashion Police'.

AceShowbiz - After sending a public apology to Zendaya Coleman, Giuliana Rancic now blames "Fashion Police" writer for the controversial joke about Zendaya's Oscars dreadlock, according to Access Hollywood's Billy Bush. On Thursday night, February 26, Billy said he texted Giuliana about the recent issue.

According to Billy, Giuliana told him that Zendaya's Oscars hair joke was penned by a "Fashion Police" writer and it was supposed to be, "She looks like she smells like patchouli oil," followed by, "I heard she's going on a tour with the Grateful Dead," referring to hippie culture. Billy said, "That joke was a written joke, which means, a lot of people involved and nobody saw racism in this at all. I don't think they would have put it on the air several hours later if there was."

Giuliana also denied the circulating rumors that the segment was taped three times. Billy said, "They did the show all the way through. Like any show, you nip and tuck it [later] to fit it into one hour. None of those segments were done multiple times."

Earlier on the day, Us Weekly reported that the Zendaya segment was done three times. An alleged source from the set of the show told the site, "They did the Zendaya segment three times. Three different takes. On the first two takes, Kelly said, 'Guys, we can't say this. Zendaya is a friend of the show.' " The source added, "Giuliana said the words 'patchouli oil' and 'weed' three times [in front of 30 audience members]. They all heard the three takes."

An E! representative later denied the report, telling Us Weekly, "There was only one take of Giuliana's comments. Kelly did let the group know Zendaya is a friend of hers."
