Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs Regret '2 Broke Girls' Racist Aboriginal Joke

The two main actresses of '2 Broke Girls' distance themselves from the insensitive joke made by Matthew Moy's Han on a recent episode.

AceShowbiz - "2 Broke Girls" stars Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs break their silence after the TV series came under fire for seemingly taking a jab at Aboriginal Australians. The two actresses regret the insensitive joke, writing on Twitter that they agree with the critics.

The joke in question was made by diner owner Han (Matthew Moy) when he said in one scene that he flirted with an Australian woman who's "part Aboriginal but has a great personality." Many pointed out the statement implied that native Australians were physically unattractive.

One of the critics is Kevin Rudd, the former Prime Minister of Australia. He tweeted, "Pathetic attempt at racist humour by American 'comedy' - '2 Broke Girls.' How low can you go for canned laughter? Program should apologize."

Dennings wrote, "That line was a moment of ignorance from whoever wrote it. It does NOT reflect how I or cast feels. Hope this helps anyone rightfully upset." Behrs agreed, "I second @OfficialKat That line was a moment of ignorance from whoever wrote it. It does NOT reflect how I or cast feels. Hope this helps anyone rightfully upset. We love you Australia, New Zealand!"
