In the wake of the incident involving Kanye West and Beck at last week's Grammy Awards, Win Butler unleashed his DJ Windows 98 alter ego and created a mash-up of the two stars' hits. The Arcade Fire frontman then took to SoundCloud recently to share "Jesus Walks, Loser", which is obviously a rework of 'Ye's "Jesus Walks" and Beck's "Loser".
Butler's mix opens with West rapping the lyrics of his 2004 hit over the guitar riff of Beck's 1994 breakthrough single. The 44-year-old's vocals finally emerge towards the end of the nearly-four-minute mash-up as he sings his own song's chorus.
Butler is hardly the first person to have created a mash-up using Beck's song following his unexpected big win at the Grammys. Late last week, a SoundCloud user who goes by Beckyonce Knowles-Hansen posted an equally-interesting mix of "Loser" and Beyonce Knowles' "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)".
