An Orlando resident named Fernando Sosa has been served with a cease and decist letter from Katy's lawyer after creating and printing 'Left Shark' figurines which he sold for $24.99 each.

AceShowbiz - Katy Perry's lawyer has sent a cease and decist letter to a man who was selling "Left Shark" figurines inspired by the viral dancing shark appearing during her Super Bowl halftime show performance. An Orlando resident named Fernando Sosa shared the screenshot of the letter he got from the law offices of Greenberg Traurig on Instagram on Thursday, February 5.

The letter stated, "Our client [Katy] recently has learned that you have been involved in the manufacture, sale, marketing and distribution of merchandise featuring a shark sculpture which embodies and uses the [Super Bowl halftime show], and that you have displayed this product on your website, in connection with such sale and distribution."

"As you are undoubtedly aware, our client never consented to your use of its copyrighted work and IP, nor did our client consent to the sale of the infringing product," the letter added.

Fernando previously created and printed "Left Shark" figurines which he sold for $24.99 each on the website Shapeways.com. He told CNN, "Well, it looks like dictators and world leaders like Putin and Kim Jong Un or Chris Christie are much easier to deal with. So I probably will go back to doing pieces about them and other world leaders. All this lawyer crap is very stressful."

In other news, John Mayer hinted at his on-again romance with Katy when guest-hosting "The Late Late Show" on Wednesday night by bringing her Super Bowl sharks.

"This is actually a really huge get for me. You probably saw my first guests perform during Katy Perry's Super Bowl XLIX halftime show, the most watched show in television history," he said, "They've since become a viral internet sensation and we're lucky to have them here tonight; please welcome the Super Bowl halftime sharks."

John asked the sharks, "I guess my first question is for the sharks... what's it been like to see this turn into such a national media event? Did you expect this to become the phenomenon that it has?" The sharks' agent Carl Thorsen replied to John instead because the sharks couldn't talk, "Uh, yeah they can't talk John, they're sharks. They're not dolphins."

During an interview with Andy Cohen, John gushed on Katy's Super Bowl performance. "It was unbelievable," John said, after admitting that he watched Katy's performance from the stadium's family box. "And I think the whole thing about the sharks, everybody wants to talk about the sharks because it's just something everyone can grab onto because not everyone feels comfortable walking around saying that Katy Perry was amazing."

"Guys love the sharks. It's like, 'You have nothing bad to say about the performance, do you?' 'No, I don't.' Because if they did, you'd hear about it," he added, "She made the internet a kind, gentle place for a day. It was awesome."

Andy then told John, "Mozel to you and your family, your girlfriend." The 37-year-old singer-songwriter then responded, "Your questions make gossip stories."

Before the show, Katy tweeted about John's guest-hosting. "THE SHARKS FROM THE SUPER-BOWL SIT DOWN W/@JohnMayer WHO'S GUEST HOSTING THE LATE LATE SHOW ON CBS TONIGHT @ 12:35AM/11:35PM CT #leftshark," she wrote.
