'Fifty Shades of Grey' Receives 18 and Over Rating in the U.K.
Movie

The raunchy movie is slapped with 18 rating in the U.K., which is equivalent to NC-17 in the U.S., as it is revealed that one-fifth of the flick consists of sex scenes.

AceShowbiz - "Fifty Shades of Grey" is not so lucky in term of rating in the U.K. While the raunchy movie received R rating in the U.S., it is slapped with 18 rating by the British Board of Film Classification because it "contains strong sex and nudity, along with the portrayal of erotic role play based on domination, submission, and sado-masochistic practices."

The 18 rating is equivalent to NC-17 rating in the U.S. Subsequently, people under 18 will not be able to watch the movie in theaters.

News regarding the rating emerged as it was revealed that one-fifth of the movie consists of sex scene. As reported by The Sunday Times, a site called Mr Skin which tracks duration of hot scenes in movies suggested that "Fifty Shades of Grey" contains 12 sex scenes between Dakota Johnson's Ana Steele and Jamie Dornan's Christian Grey, totaling to 20 minutes of screen time in its 100 minutes running time.

Based on a book of the same name by E.L. James, "Fifty Shades of Grey" is set for release in the U.S. on February 13. As fans wait for the flick's theatrical release, a first full scene from the Sam Taylor-Johnson-directed movie was unveiled on Monday, February 2, showing Grey buying rope, tape and cable ties in a hardware store where Ana works.
