Taylor Swift continues her Billboard 200 reign. The country-turned-pop superstar's latest studio effort, "1989", is spending its eighth non-consecutive week at the chart's No. 1 with 244,000 equivalent units, according to Nielsen Music. 172,000 copies of those are pure album sales while the rest is made up of track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).

"1989" now becomes Swift's second longest-running No. 1 album, following her second full-length "Fearless" which topped the chart for 11 non-consecutive weeks in 2008 and 2009. Her "Speak Now" (2010) and "Red" (2012) respectively spent six weeks and seven weeks at No. 1.

Next on Billboard 200, Nicki Minaj's "The Pinkprint" is also a non-mover as it stays at No. 2 with 84,000 units (51,000 in pure album sales). Ed Sheeran's "X" jumps from No. 7 to No. 3 with 83,000. Fellow British act Sam Smith's "In the Lonely Hour" trails behind, rising one rung to No. 4 with 82,000.

The soundtrack of "Guardians of the Galaxy" closes out the top 5 with 70,000 units which all came from pure album sales. Hozier's self-titled set climbs from No. 8 to No. 6 with 60,000 while former first placer J. Cole's "2014 Forest Hills Drive" slips one rung to No. 7 with 59,000.

At No. 8, the soundtrack of Disney's "Into the Woods" soars from last week's No. 9 with 57,000. The last two spots in the top 10 are occupied by One Direction's "FOUR" that plunges to No. 9 with 55,000 and Ariana Grande's "My Everything" which keeps its position steady at No. 10 with 43,000.
