The upcoming movie directed by Paul Greengrass is now taking the date vacated by 'Planet of the Apes 3'.

AceShowbiz - Fans have to wait a bit more for Matt Damon's "Bourne 5" which is directed by Paul Greengrass. The upcoming spy movie which previously targeted a July 15, 2016 release date has been pushed back two weeks and it is now set to hit U.S. theaters on July 29, 2016. The new date was previously taken by "Planet of the Apes 3" which is now set for July 14, 2017.

With the new date, "Bourne 5" will face competition from Fox's "Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates". The comedy which has yet to announce its cast tells the story of two brothers who attempted to find a wedding date for a relative's nuptials by placing an ad on Craigslist. A week later on August 5, "Suicide Squad" which features appearances from Will Smith, Tom Hardy, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney and Cara Delevingne among others will hit theaters.

Damon starred in the first three "Bourne" movies before Jeremy Renner replaced him as the lead actor in 2012's "The Bourne Legacy". According to Coming Soon, "Bourne 5" is written by Greengrass, Damon and Christopher Rouse.
