Series creator and star Lena Dunham says of the first two scripts for season five, 'No one has seen them, but they exist.'

AceShowbiz - "Girls" is getting another year to live. The critically-acclaimed comedy created by Lena Dunham has once again scored an early renewal from HBO, being ordered for a fifth season before the fourth season premieres later this month.

HBO programming president Michael Lombardo made the announcement Monday night, January 5 at the show's season 4 premiere party at the Museum of Natural History in New York. The renewal comes as little surprise since the show continues to receive positive reviews from critics in addition to being a steady performer on the premium cable channel.

Dunham and executive producer Jenni Konner will start working on the new season on Tuesday. "No one has seen them, but they exist," Dunham, who also stars as Hannah Horvath on the comedy, said of the first two scripts for season five.

The fourth season of "Girls" premieres Sunday, January 11 at 9 P.M. "This season of 'Girls' is the girls making smarter choices and realizing that life is still hard," Dunham said in behind-the-scenes video.
