AceShowbiz - %cGrace Helbig% is coming to television on E!. The network has picked up a weekly comedy talk show which will be hosted by the YouTube sensation. The show, under the working title "The Grace Helbig Project", will premiere in April.
"The Grace Helbig Project" is described as "a hybrid comedy show that will feature the comedienne's fresh take on what's trending in pop culture, as well as exclusive interviews with various celebrity guests."
Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President of Original Programming & Development at E!, says, "This show is a fresh take on the conventional talk show with a very unconventional host who has already captured an enormous fan base of young viewers on the web. As we continue to seek out programming that offers a rich multiplatform experience, we are excited to launch this forward-thinking talk show that speaks so perfectly to our audience and to the core of E!'s pop culture brand."
Helbig, whose "It's Grace" YouTube channel has over two million subscribers, says, "Congratulations to E! for giving an internet-obsessed introvert a talk show. I'm looking forward to working with humans."
"The Grace Helbig Project" will feature interviews with celebrities in random locations, such as her car or the grocery store. She will invite fans to interact with her via social media, including Twitter, Vine and Instagram.
Helbig won a Webby Award for "It's Grace". She also starred in feature film "Camp Takota" which she produced and was released in theaters last February.
Hiring Helbig is E!'s first big move to bring in a new female face since %cChelsea Handler% ended her late-night show "Chelsea Lately" in August. Helbig's show, however, will air in primetime.
