U2 has angered people in Belfast, Northern Ireland after they filmed a new music video in the area recently. As reported by Belfast Telegraph, local residents claimed the filming was "disruptive." One man said cars on the set had stopped social workers being able to park.

That's not all. The theme of the music video also drew criticism from the residents. Involving a bomb attack and actors dressed as soldiers, the video was said to have brought back painful memories of sectarian violence in Northern Ireland.

"U2 were apparently trying to stage something like a bomb that happened here in the Troubles and I couldn't believe they would do that. They have done various plays and films about the Troubles anyway, and the Troubles did happen," one resident stated.

Others took to Twitter to voice their disappointment over the video. One user posted some photos showing actors getting injured and destroyed cars. "Is this @U2 video in poor taste?" read the caption.

Another user accused Bono and Co. of "cashing in" on the Troubles and another added, "Thanks U2 for shooting a music video in Belfast that makes us look like we're still in the troubles."

U2's team has responded to the criticism. A spokesperson for the production company behind the shoot defended the decision to use the controversial theme, saying, "It has been taken out of all proportion. We have no further commented to make."
