The 20-year-old rapper was taken into custody on Wednesday, December 17 in an NYPD investigation into a series of gang-related shootings and drug trafficking.

AceShowbiz - Bobby Shmurda was arrested on Wednesday morning, December 17 in an NYPD investigation into a series of gang-related shootings and drug trafficking after leaving a recording studio near Radio City Music Hall in midtown Manhattan. Officials told New York Daily News that 14 members of Bobby's group, GS9, were also arrested at the same time.

Law enforcement sources told the site that Bobby was stopped while he was in a car outside the studio. The sources said police confiscated a total of 16 weapons during the raid. Police were hunting two more people including a parole violator. Record producer Sha Money XL and aspiring hip hop artist Rowdy Rebel were reportedly among those who were arrested.

Spokeswoman for the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor Kati Cornell said that the indictment against Bobby would be unsealed in Manhattan Supreme Court after their arraignments on Thursday. She said NYPD planned to hold a press conference later in the afternoon to discuss the case.

This is not the first time Bobby was arrested. Back in June, he was busted on a felony gun charge. The "Hot N***a" rapper then got arrested again in October for smoking a joint on a Brooklyn street.
