Teresa Giudice is suing her former bankruptcy attorney for $5 million over her jail sentence. According to NY Daily News, the star of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" filed the lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court on Wednesday, December 3.

Giudice alleges in her documents that her former attorney James Kridel botched her bankruptcy filing in 2010. He allegedly also failed to prepare her and her husband for a hearing with the federal Bankruptcy Court trustee and creditors whom they owed millions. The star and her husband Joe later were accused of committing bankruptcy and mortgage fraud for hiding assets in the bankruptcy proceeding.

Giudice was sentenced to 15 months in jail, while Joe got 41 months. The mother of four will start serving her time on January 5 while her husband is scheduled to start after she finishes, so that at least one parent will be with their young daughters. Kridel has not responded to request for comments regarding the lawsuit.

In other news, a source told E! News on Wednesday about how her family would spend the upcoming holiday before she goes to prison. "This Christmas, the focus isn't going to be on presents. It will be on family and togetherness. Teresa is savoring every moment she has with her girls right now," the source said.
