AceShowbiz - A woman is sentenced to one year in jail following the stabbing of Mary J. Blige's father, Thomas Blige. The 50-year-old woman named Cheryl White was sentenced to 365 days in the Calhoun County jail, Battle Creek Enquirer reports. She already served 270 days of the sentence.

In addition to the jail sentence, White is placed on five-year probation following her release. She is not allowed to contact Blige during probation and must complete the required counseling and mental health treatment. She is also ordered to pay $17,290 for Blige's nursing service. White listened to the sentence while weeping quietly, but she did not say anything about the sentence.

Police had received some reports of domestic violence involving White and Blige. Then, on January 23, Blige, 63, was attacked by White in front of his apartment and suffered from stab wounds on his neck, chest and arm as the results. He moved out of the state following the incident and was not present during the sentencing.

In September, White accepted a plea deal offered by the prosecutors, pleading no contest to the charge of assault with intent to commit great bodily harm.
