AceShowbiz - Fans can expect something different on "Saturday Night Live" when Prince appears as a musical guest on the NBC show this Saturday, November 1. It's announced on Monday, October 27 that instead of splitting his performance into two separate segments as other musical guests usually do, the "Purple Rain" singer would perform one, uninterrupted "eight-minute long jam session."
This will mark Prince's first performance on "Saturday Night Live" in eight years. It's unclear which song/songs Prince will be performing in the upcoming episode, but it's been confirmed that he'll be joined by his band 3RDEYEGIRL.
Prince is now promoting his new albums. His solo effort "ART OFFICIAL AGE" and the collaborative record with 3RDEYEGIRL "PLECTRUMELECTRUM" were both released in late September and peaked within Billboard 200's top 10.
The November 1 episode of "Saturday Night Live" will feature Chris Rock, who's returning to the show as a host for the first time in 18 years.
