Uma Thurman is being sued by her former fiance, Arpad Busson, over custody of their 2-year-old daughter, Luna. According to New York Daily News, Arpad filed a lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court on Tuesday, October 14.
The case was assigned to judge Matthew Cooper, who handles divorce, custody and support cases full time. Specifics about the proceeding are still unknown because the court papers are sealed. Neither Uma nor Arpad has commented on the issue yet.
The "Nymphomaniac" actress and Arpad got engaged in 2008 after dating for about a year. The pair broke their engagement twice, in 2009 and most recently in April. Luna, whose full name is Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence Thurman-Busson, was born in July 2012.
In an interview with Jimmy Fallon last year, Uma credited her elder daughter, Maya, for coming up with Luna's lengthy and unique name. She said, "[Maya] came up with the best excuse, [which] was that I probably wouldn't get to have any more children, so I just put every name I liked into [Luna's]," she explained on the late-night talk show."
"We couldn't quite agree on the name," the "Kill Bill" actress added, "We call her Luna, so she's lucky that way. And then the rest, she can name all her own children all these interesting names." She then joked. "Proud, Catholic, observant!"
Uma has other two children, Maya and Levon, from her marriage to Ethan Hawke. Uma and Ethan tied the knot in 1997 but they split in 2003 and formally divorced two years later.
